Nursing
The Nursing Demand Model Based Requirements Forecasting Model is a statistically based, computer implemented forecasting model which is a tool to study the possible future changes in the levels of nurse requirements as a function of policy or socioeconomic changes. It has also incorporated the capability of forecasting health care service demands. The model package includes all materials necessary to the operation of the computer based model and understanding of its analytical underpinnings. This includes a source program disk as well as the input data and program disks. The complete documentation of the analytical model, including operating instructions for the computer based model, are included. The operation of the model itself is straight forward, where, after execution of the program, the user makes a series of selection concerning the output of health care sector data for the various levels of nursing. Instructions are also included to facilitate the modification of the model's input data so users may generate a variety of their own scenarios. Those individuals or organizations which have an interest in the future demand for nurses (and health care services) in general or in the mechanism of forecasting that demand in particular, should have an interest in this forecasting package. It's capability reaches to the State level of geographic detail which should be of interest to the health care service forecasters and planners at the national, regional or State levels. Additionally, the model addresses specific health care sections, e.g., Nursing Homes. The major benefits offered by this package are twofold. The first is as a computer based forecasting tool which allows the user to access both geographic and nursing employment (or health care services) sector detail, coupled with the ability to make changes in the behavior of the model's influencing variables. The second lies in the fact that the complete spectrum of documentation provides a coherent picture of the model from the specification, estimation and operation perspectives. in other words, all of the important analytical, statistical and data associated aspects of model development and operation are made available to the user.
