The Survey presents data on the characteristics of nursing homes, utilization by current residents and number of employees. Characteristics of the nursing homes include ownership, certification, bed size, location, and affiliation. Data for current residents include age, sex, and race. Data collection for the 1997 was conducted between July and December 1997. Survey includes all types of facilities that provided nursing care without regard as to whether they were Medicare or Medicaid certified or whether they were licensed.
