He received his medical degree from the University of Chicago, alpha omega alpha, and remained there for his internship and residency in internal medicine. His gastroenterology fellowship was completed at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he joined the faculty for many years, with particular interests in hepatology and teaching. Dr. Hauser presently is a Consultant at Mayo Clinic and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mayo Medical School, where his focus is on education and clinical practice in gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr. Hauser is board certified in internal medicine and in gastroenterology. He is nationally recognized as a course director and lecturer.
