Administration
INTRODUCTION
Healthcare facilities often struggle to identify appropriate measures for balanced scorecards. Some facilities are reluctant to take the focus off of successful measures because they fear that if the measures do not stay in the forefront, the outcomes may start to slip. This is probably not the case. If the measure has been a consistent success for your facility, studying and reviewing less successful measures for inclusion on a scorecard should only enhance and improve the connectivity among all measures.
After completing this activity, the participant should be able to:
- 1. determine measures which display the interdependency between patients, employees, and strategy.
- 2. explain the process to outline key measures for a complete yet concise balanced scorecard.
- 3. discuss the balanced scorecard approach.
- 4. explain audiences which benefit from a review of scorecards.
- 5. describe the addition of focused activities to performance improvement programs that lead to superior results.
