These programs will assist the nurse in preparing for administration of medications in the hospital, clinic, or institutional setting and will also help to reduce medication administration errors and liability.
The individual units focus on a review of basic mathematics, emphasizing multiplication and division of fractions and decimals; explanation of metric and household systems of measurement; interpretation of abbreviations and symbols; calculation of drug dosage in oral and liquid form using ratio and proportion and solving equations using "x" methods.
The final unit in the series teaches IV drip rate and infusion time calculations, including a section on critical care calculations.
