The European Society of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology (ESPO) in collaboration with numerous related organizations all over the world presented the 7th International Congress of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology in Helsinki, Finland on June 7-10, 1998. This was a major international event that attracted over 1000 delegates and guests from 52 countries. To redcord the main parts of the congress, Excerpta Medica International Congress Series has presented a new medium for a wide and timely dissemination of the scientific information in the form of a CD-ROM. ICS 1180, Advances in Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, will be the model for future professional congresses and meetings where the editing, digitalization and access is now available through a CD-ROM and the World Wide Web.
